Montoni’s portfolio boasts expertise in the commercial, industrial and institutional markets, including office buildings and urban revitalization projects. It embraces the art of building and shapes spaces for life.

The company’s vision is: “To create a real estate legacy at the cutting edge of the industry in terms of both technology and environmentally friendly practices,” and it has excelled since its founding in 1995, demonstrated by its functional, efficient and aesthetically pleasing architectural projects. The company supports its clients throughout the entire process, to ensure project success every time.

Montoni has become synonymous with architectural excellence, quality construction and integrity. The company has completed commercial construction projects in the Greater Montreal area as well as across Canada and specializes in custom-designed, highly functional and attractive buildings that revitalize spaces and vastly improve neighbourhoods.

It is familiar with the stringent, ever-evolving standards that are in place for institutional construction and remains a step ahead of the industry. The company can support its clients through new construction as well as retrofits, offering outstanding final results while maintaining a strong focus on its client and environment.

“Montoni thinking is focused on three major concerns; the intrinsic value of a well-designed, well-constructed building, the quality of life of its occupants and sustainable development. On the basis of this model, Montoni carries out projects whose remarkable attractiveness and functional performance are inherent in a unique respect of the environment,” said Dario Montoni, founder and president of the group.

Collectively referred to as Groupe Montoni, the firm’s operations are organized into three separate divisions: Montoni Development, which has sites, buildings and spaces available for sale and lease; Montoni Construction, which provides full-scale construction services; and Montoni Property Management, which provides a complete range of property management services.

A prime example of a Montoni industrial project is the Exel DHL facility that was built in 2013. Located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, this 418,292-square-foot facility houses the transportation company with ample warehousing and distribution space. The goal on this project was to obtain LEED certification, so green features include twenty-five percent green space and highly efficient design. A white roof was employed to reduce heat islands; the outdoor lighting was selected to reduce light pollution and commitment to air quality was made through the use of low-VOC (volatile organic compound) products.

Other projects worth noting are the 392,200-square-foot RONA industrial space in Terrebonne and the new 893,800-square-foot Le Groupe Jean Coutu (PJC) Inc. headquarters and distribution centre.

The company is a member of the Canada Green Building Council (CGBC) and a leader in LEED certified construction and its LEED certified professionals, “ensure that projects meet the international standards of energy efficiency and environmentally respectful design,” he noted. The CGBC presented its 2013 industry leadership award to Montoni, recognizing the firm’s tireless commitment to the environment to LEED construction and sustainable development.

“Mindful of the need to protect the environment for future generations, since 2006 the Montoni team has put a great deal of effort into seeking and receiving LEED certification for most of its projects.”

In addition to being recognized for its commitment to the environment and sustainable construction and development, Montoni has been recognized as one of Canada’s best managed companies for 15 years in a row, an honour of which the firm is quite proud.

The award recognizes Montoni’s commitment to continuous improvement, growth and development.

Montoni’s remarkable work is showcased in the Espace Montmorency mixed-use property in Laval-des-Rapids, Laval. The four-phase project consists of ten buildings of up to ten storeys each. This 1,470,132-square-foot project is seeking LEED Gold certification.

The Ericsson office building project is another project worth highlighting. This 275,000-square-foot space is located at Ville Saint Laurent (VSL) Hub and is the largest suburban campus of its kind. It has been designed for improved quality of life with green spaces, bicycle and pedestrian paths and also has been designed to be energy efficient, seeking LEED Gold certification.

These examples are living proof why it has established itself as one of the most well-respected construction companies and real estate developers in eastern Canada. Montoni is a partner in the process of creating a legacy through the art of building.
