Helix Electric consistently ranks amongst the best of the best in the industry. It was recognized as the ‘Best of Las Vegas’ by the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2017 and received the bronze award for best maintenance.

Notably, Helix Electric ranked eleventh in construction industry magazine ENR’s top fifty electrical firms, as well as third-place in the specialty contracting category. It was recently awarded the 2018 safety award in the residential electrical division from safety company World Wide Safety for its excellent safety performance which has been a major focus of the company as it has grown.

Helix Electric has also received nods from the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) for projects in various categories, including its work on the airfield ramp lighting at McCarran International Airport, the Hard Rock Hotel’s banquet room expansion and the $25 million luxury Ascaya Clubhouse at the McCullough Range mountainside in Henderson, Nevada.

Helix Electric boasts industry-leading talent, state-of-the-art resources, performance of the utmost quality, competitive pricing and on-time project completion. This is how it continues to be a partner on some of the highest profile projects in the state of Nevada.

Its design-build, construction and engineering skills enable Helix Electric to undertake a broad range of projects that it delivers flawlessly. Regardless of the project or the sector, it provides reputable turnkey solutions and service.

Victor Fuchs, president and managing partner, began his career with Helix Electric in 1987 as a project manager and assumed control of the Nevada branch in 1995. Through his vision, the company quickly became a leader. Helix Electric is increasing its presence in the market, having recently opened offices in Las Vegas and Reno.

“We have a lot of opportunity. We have a nice backlog. Obviously, we are still working on the Tesla Gigabit Factory project, but we also have a quite a few projects on the horizon for next year,” noted Fuchs. “We’re hoping to have a full-blown operation in Reno. We have a number of people, and we’ve established some new local clients, and it’s moving forward at a very rapid pace.”

With the help of its recruitment team, Helix Electric is working to accommodate the growth by adding talent and resources to sustain operational excellence. There has also been a significant investment in safety with the addition of a full-time education director to reinforce safety standards. From basic trades to supervisory functions, the employees of Helix Electric are well-trained and skilled, which serves the company and its clients well.

Helix Electric is comprised of over seven hundred employees including construction managers, engineers, electricians and estimators. Although it is a rather large company, its family-owned-and-operated corporate culture empowers people to achieve project results that are beyond a client’s expectations.

“With the manpower shortage, our goal is to strive to be the best employer – the employer of choice. We attract people by being an employer of choice, and we provide a good environment for people to work at with benefits, challenges and the education that comes with it,” explained Fuchs.

A big part of being a desired employer is directly related to Helix Electric’s commitment to training and continuous improvement. Weekly training opportunities are provided at Helix University to ensure that the shortage in skilled labor does not hinder growth. Being acknowledged for its safety record by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Nevada greatly reinforces these efforts.

Helix Electric was also recently recognized by the Safety Consultation and Training Section (SCATS) of Nevada’s Division of Industrial Relations for its efforts to create a safe and healthy workplace through the successful completion of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). This places it in the elite group of businesses that have completed the program.

“We constantly innovate and look for things to give us competitive advantages. We want to be perceived as the best company to work for and to work with when it comes to electrical contractors in the state of Nevada. From reputation, we have very strong customer retention and customer satisfaction,” said Fuchs.

“We measure our projects two or three times through the projects. We do a customer review to make sure that we are on top of the game and to make sure we do things the right way,” he added. The attention to detail paid by its employees is how Helix Electric secures the caliber of projects it does.

From Tesla’s renowned Gigabit facility to the recent remodel of Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Helix Electric’s portfolio is full of impressive projects. One must look no further than its remodeling efforts on the Palazzo Las Vegas to get a sense of what it is capable.

Its work on the Las Vegas IKEA’s customized solar power system received the Award of Merit by ENR Southwest and was acknowledged as one of the best projects of the year. The project was also awarded a NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) Spotlight Award for retail building in the special awards category.

“We want to grow our organization, and we want to be the best at it, but we want it to be steady growth, and we want to make sure that we can take care of our clients,” said Fuchs. “Especially being on the edge and being the best, we hope we are selected for the best projects.”

Helix Electric does right by its clients and its people. It also makes a significant impact on the communities in which it operates. Whether it is through active participation in the education system to inform students about a career in the construction field, golf tournaments to raise money and awareness for specific causes and charities or other forms of outreach, Helix Electric has done much good work in the community.

Helix Electric has supported countless causes including Opportunity Village, a non-profit organization that serves Southern Nevada adults with disabilities through career training, community employment, recreational activities and other programs. Helix Electric and its employees have also participated in programs with Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Salvation Army and the Olive Crest Thanksgiving Drive in which thirty-seven local families received Thanksgiving meals.

More recently, in the wake of tragedy, Helix Electric quickly mobilized to be part of the Community Healing Garden that was built to honor the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival. This remembrance garden was completed in seventy-two hours and is a testament to the company’s connection to the community and its vow to give back.

While it has made itself an indispensable part of the community, there is more success and additional growth potential on the horizon for Helix Electric as it continues to add people, resources and capacity. Fuchs notes that there is room for growth in Helix’ markets. There is particularly growth potential in high-density residential housing, an area in which it has proven its ability repeatedly.
