Owner of several companies including Baxter Southwest Corporate Realty Services, and co-owner of Mason, Texas-based Erna-Frac Sand, L.C. – a privately owned and operated mine producing 40/70 and 100 Mesh frac sand – President Darren Casey founded the company bearing his name in 1992. With decades of real estate experience, the team at Casey Development has been responsible for the development of over four million square feet of office, industrial, multi-family and retail properties in San Antonio, along with the City of San Marcos and City of Austin, and in the states of Colorado and California.

Range of projects
The area has enjoyed considerable population growth in recent years along Interstate 35 (IH-35) corridor, the major highway extending from Laredo, Texas in the South over 1,500 miles to Duluth, Minnesota in the north. Casey Development recognizes the rising affluence along IH-35, which – in the words of the company – “presents tremendous real estate opportunities for astute developers and investors.” Concentrating on San Antonio, Austin, and areas along the IH-35 corridor, “the company’s focus is developing and acquiring properties that are unparalleled in architectural excellence and quality of workmanship while being highly functional and aesthetically pleasing for our tenants and residents,” according to its website.

With projects encompassing many areas, including office, retail, multi-family/student housing, industrial, self-storage, and land, Casey Development’s works include luxury Class A apartment communities, substantial climate-controlled self-storage facilities, mixed-use developments, shopping centers, and business parks.

Among Casey Development’s apartment developments are Tacara at Steiner Ranch, and Tacara at Westpointe Village. These are multi-family/student housing works. Tacara at Steiner Ranch is a 246-unit luxury Class A apartment community in northwest Austin’s master planned community of Steiner Ranch, while Tacara at Westpointe Village, is a 209-unit Class A apartment community in New Braunfels’ Westpointe Village area.

With views of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country, Tacara at Steiner Ranch is part of an award-winning, master planned development of over 4,600 acres. With a choice of one, two, or three-bedroom units, interiors are stylish and luxurious, featuring quartz countertops with undermount sinks, stainless steel appliances, and much more. Tacara at Westpointe Village is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and key employers, such as the CBE Group and IBEX Global, and near to quality schools including the New Braunfels High School.

Along with Tacara at Steiner Ranch and Tacara at Westpointe Village, Casey Development is behind other significant residential developments, including Tacara at Westover Hills. A luxury, 312-unit Class A multi-family/student housing apartment, it is strategically located off State Highway 151 close to Loop 410, near Westover Hills. A master-planned community, it is near to large employers including JPMorgan Chase, SeaWorld, Microsoft San Antonio Data Center, and others. Offering residents amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a media/game room, an electric car charging station and more, units are available in one, two, or three bedrooms, averaging 825 square feet.

Class A office space
Active in many areas, Casey Development has an industry-wide reputation for its innovative office buildings, including Travis Park Plaza in San Antonio’s Central Business District, El Cerrito Place in the city’s north central submarket, and Parkway Plaza, near to San Antonio’s International Airport. For its Cinema Plaza project, Casey Development was responsible for transforming a failing movie theater into a dynamic, 70,000 square foot Class A office building. With its prime location near the San Antonio Airport off U.S. 281, and readily accessible to San Antonio’s downtown shops and restaurants, Cinema Plaza serves as “a great example of the creativity and ingenuity of Casey.”

In some cases, Casey Development is called upon to construct multiple office structures, like Crosswinds Technology Park. Located off IH-35, the four buildings were built over a six-year period. With floor plans designed to appeal to a broad range of tenants in the office/flex/warehouse space, clearance heights are 26 feet for the first structure and 24 feet for the other three buildings. Totaling 341,139 square feet for all four buildings, Crosswinds Technology Park offers direct access to Wurzbach Parkway.

Similar to the Crosswinds Technology Park project, the Tech Ridge office consists of more than one building. Located in the University Business Park off IH-10 in the northwest of San Antonio, it includes two Class A office buildings, the first measuring 50,000 square feet with the second coming in at 70,000 square feet. Among the many amenities of the two buildings are fiber optic cabling and flexible floor plans.

Storage facilities
Along with Class A apartments and premium office space, Casey Development has earned a reputation for its high-quality self-storage facilities, including The Keep Storage at Thousand Oaks, The Keep Storage at Vance Jackson, The Keep Storage at Westover Hills, and The Keep Storage at Stone Oak. Varying in size from 77,000 square feet to 116,000 square feet, these Class A self-storage facilities feature bold, distinctive exteriors with elements such as stone masonry and metal accents, and sleek, highly visible signage. Containing hundreds of storage units each, all four of ‘The Keep’ facilities are three stories tall and feature a range of amenities such as drive-up access, closed-circuit visual monitoring, a full security system, individual alarm doors, an on-site office and manager, and more. Situated in highly visible locations, these climate and non-climate controlled structures are meeting demands for more storage space in their respective areas.

Continuing to acquire and develop desirable properties for industrial, retail, multi-family and self-storage uses, Casey Development continues to focus on prime locations in San Antonio, Austin and along the IH-35 corridor.
