Trusted and True

Tarrant Roofing
Written by Robert Hoshowsky

In the construction sector, experience counts, and few companies are more experienced than Tarrant Roofing. While the Tarrant team is building roofing, the business they’re truly in is building trust.

Bringing years of industry knowledge to the business, President and Owner Danny Leverett founded the Texas-based roofing business in 1994. “Danny grew up in roofing,” says Tarrant’s Director of Marketing D’Sha’ Jones. The son of a roofing company owner and operator, the young Danny worked alongside his father from age four to 13, picking up trash on job sites, carrying shingles, and learning everything possible about the business along the way.

Joining a roofing company and becoming a partner after working for his dad, Leverett had found success, but had also found that something was missing: the integrity and work ethic of his father’s business, deeply ingrained in him as a child. As a result, he started Tarrant Roofing to do things his way and has never looked back.

Over a quarter of a century after creating Tarrant Roofing Construction and General Contractors, Leverett and his team continue to uphold those deeply-held values of integrity, respect, and customer service with every job.

Experts in residential and commercial roofing, Tarrant, of Bedford, Texas, takes on projects for clients across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, also encompassing Houston and San Antonio.

Accredited and certified
Widely known for superior workmanship and attention to detail, Tarrant is much more than just another roofing company. Unlike many others in the roofing sector, Tarrant is fully able to meet all the needs of its many customers. Besides its expertise in new construction, Tarrant’s services include roof repair and replacement, the installation of new guttering, and also expert roof inspection – services not always available elsewhere.

Receiving praise from both new and repeat residential and commercial customers, Tarrant’s reputation comes from over 25 years of earning trust, and striving for the best with every roofing project, big or small. Attaining an A+ Accreditation from the Better Business Bureau and maintaining it for decades – and earning “more positive reviews than any other roofing company in North Texas” – the company has also been awarded as the “Best of Fort Worth” for three years in a row now by Fort Worth Magazine. Tarrant is a member of the North Texas Roofing Contractors Association (NTCRA), and is a certified installer for multiple roofing products including CertainTeed, Tamko, Malarkey, DaVinci, GAF, Berridge, Owens Corning, Tilcor, and Decra, as well as a commercial certified installer for Carlisle, USPly, Johns Mainville, Firestone, Durolast, CertainTeed, and Berridge.

Founded in 1944, TAMCO is one of America’s oldest and most respected manufacturers of innovative and long-lasting residential and commercial roofing products, coatings, waterproofing materials and cements.

Much of Tarrant’s success can be attributed to the generous amount of time the company’s full-time staff of 30 allocates to educating customers about the best options and materials for their roofing projects. And unlike some in the roofing industry who reuse re-roofing materials whenever possible, Tarrant doesn’t cut corners, ensuring customers get the quality products and craftsmanship they pay for.

An honest, no-nonsense approach, quality from start to finish, and competitive pricing is the non-negotiable way the company does business, and it’s justified by the hundreds of A+, five-star BBB reviews.

Bringing out the best
As a developmental company, Tarrant Roofing hires people from outside the industry who demonstrate a desire to work. “Danny has an open-door policy for everyone in his company. We have an owner that doesn’t care about race, creed or color,” says Jones. “He’s more concerned about pouring positive thinking into people to develop people’s character and outlook on life. By doing this with each person he feels he will develop them to help lead this company into a successful future.”

Putting quality first and profit second, Tarrant continues to receive praise for its outstanding work, which starts with its own strict Eight Step Process.

Step 1 – The roof inspection: This includes gutters, soft metals and all relevant areas and aspects of the roofing. If there’s a problem – for instance, significant wind and/or hail damage – staff help customers with the next step.

Step 2 – Calling in the claim: The claim is lodged with the owner’s insurance company while on-site.

Step 3 – Adjuster meeting: This always takes place within 72 hours of claim submission. This stage also includes a review of all of Tarrant’s findings to ensure 100 percent accuracy.

Step 4 – Review of adjuster work sheet with homeowner: Here, Tarrant representatives and the client confirm all the work necessary, and finalize matters such as color selection and contract signing, in preparation for moving to the final step.

Step 5 – Material delivery: On the designated day, following a checklist, staff verify that all ordered materials are on-hand, and confirm that the installers are available to commence the project the next day.

Step 6 – Install the roof: Crews arrive at daybreak to begin, with a sales person onsite throughout the day to manage job details.

Step 7 – Walkthrough: Upon job completion, the sales person will perform a walkthrough, ensuring that each customer is completely satisfied. Initial insurance payment and deductible are collected at this time.

Step 8 – Final payment: Tarrant will invoice the customer’s insurance company on their behalf. All other work is scheduled, final payment from insurance is collected, and a copy of the invoice and warranty is provided.

So as to present customers with many options, Tarrant’s workers are trained in different roofing products, and can offer clients priceless advice in settling on the most suitable choice for their residential or commercial work. This includes durable yet affordable composite roofing shingles; attractive and long-lasting metal roofs, made from materials like metal tile sheets or stainless steel; and products created from aluminum, copper, tin or lead.

Depending on the type of roof, other options include modified bitumen – tremendous for low-slope applications – and elastomeric roof coatings, which are applied like paint. And there are yet more tried-and-true alternatives like ethylene propylene diene monomer (better known as EPDM or ‘rubber roofing’) and TPO (thermoplastic olefin), a durable flexible membrane able to withstand UV rays, and also resistant to punctures, dirt, and debris.

Industry-wide respect
Since day one, treating all clients, staff and suppliers with respect has been one of the strongest traits of Tarrant Roofing.

Although Tarrant purchases the bulk of its materials from RSG/Beacon – which offers the highest standards in supplies and pricing and shares Tarrant’s belief in quality above all – Tarrant believes in working honestly and openly with all its partners from biggest to smallest.

Providing free roof inspections and estimates, Tarrant’s staff work personably and professionally with customers, used to answering any and all questions before starting roofing projects. Licensed, insured, and providing a Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee that covers leak repair at no cost to clients, it is no wonder Tarrant has well over 15,000 satisfied customers.

A great believer in giving back, Tarrant Roofing is involved with several charities. Once every quarter, the company contributes the re-roofing of their home to someone elderly for 6 Stones Organization, and partners with non-profit mentorship organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBS) to give back through a fun and worthwhile casino night. And with kids holding a special place in Leverett’s heart, the company actively supports several children’s charities.

“Danny wants to share his good fortune with those that need a leg up, and children don’t have control over their place in life,” says Jones. “He has a desire for all children to learn that hard work and a good work ethic are changes that each child can control themselves.”

Future vision
Along with glowing word-of-mouth recommendations from customers, Tarrant finds branding its name brings the best response. “We want to provide a professional approach to all roofing projects,” comments Jones, “meeting homeowners’ budgets and scheduling goals. We deliver high quality, cost-effective projects on schedule by supporting motivated and focused team members.”

Working toward the company’s next big step, Tarrant Roofing is on target for the opening of a new head office and warehouse facility in Fort Worth, with an estimated opening set for the middle of June. “The sky is the limit!” says Jones.
